New U.S. Department of Commerce staffer to help companies in Kershaw County, region

The U.S. Department of Commerce’s Commercial Service office in Columbia has added new staff to support South Carolina companies in reaching their international sales goals. Among them is Anastasia Mukherjee who joins a team helping dozens of Midlands and other South Carolina companies succeed in new global markets.

According to a USDOC press release, Mukherjee will work one-on-one with local companies to help them determine their export strategies, answer export-related questions and increase international sales.

Mukherjee joins the team after a career working in trade in the private sector, most recently as a trade analyst with Integration Point Inc. in Charlotte, N.C.. She has performed market research and analysis with ECI Find New Markets and Walter Meyer. Mukherjee has an International MBA from the University of South Carolina’s Moore School of Business, is fluent in Russian and studied Portuguese, Ukrainian, Hindi, French and Polish.

Mukherjee will specifically work with local companies in Kershaw County as well as  York, Chester, Fairfield, Newberry, Lexington, Orangeburg, Lancaster, Richland, Calhoun, Chesterfield, Lee, Darlington, Sumter, Marlboro and Dillon counties.

The U.S. Commercial Service is a branch of the USDOC dedicated to helping U.S. companies export. The agency has offices across the United States and in more than 75 overseas markets.

South Carolina is home to three Commercial Service offices in Greenville, Columbia and Charleston. The centers regularly host courses to train companies on the fundamentals of, and advanced topics in, exporting.
