The Camden Garden Club will hold its next meeting on October 10 at the home of Marty Harkey and guests are welcome. The speaker will be Cricket Newman.

This program will be “Fall Foliage and Fun”- Tablescape Ideas. Last year the club did tablescape design at one of its meetings and it was a tremendous success!

Throughout the year members are encouraged to bring in specimens and make arrangements. These are judged and awarded points. The Helen Phelps Bowl is presented to the member who accumulates the most points in Horticulture and Design/Arrangements. Last years’ winner was Susan Prettyman. The President’s Award was presented to the member whose work exceeds normal club duties and responsibilities by exemplifying the love of gardening, cooperation, and enthusiastic participation in all club activities. The winner of that trophy was Mary Elizabeth Boykin. The judges for this month’s entries will be Patsy Topping, chairman, Diana Wenman, Carol Kent, and Nancy Cheek and the suggested theme is “Now and Forever”. They are to use natural materials and try to include a unique South Carolina theme or plant.

Refreshments will be served following the program.
