We would like to offer our hearty congratulations and deep felt thanks to Joe and Brenda Sullivan, who were honored Tuesday by the City of Camden with a Leadership Legacy Bench.

While the Sullivans are not Camden natives – they moved here in 1982 – they quickly became deeply involved in the community. Joe and Brenda are people who believe it is not enough to just sit back and enjoy the beauty and the laid back lifestyle that is Camden and Kershaw County – that one must give back and do so fully, generously, and with everyone’s best interest at heart. You can see tangible examples all over town – many beautiful trees throughout Camden are thriving today because Brenda worked so hard with the Tree Foundation, especially in the aftermath of Hurricane Hugo. Organizations such as the Community Medical Clinic, Fine Arts Center and Boys and Girls Club are also shining examples of their hard work and willingness to step up and get things done.

Camden and Kershaw County are wonderful places to live and be a part of because of people like Joe and Brenda Sullivan, and we thank them for it.
