Mass of Christian burial for Duncan Everett Clarke will be celebrated at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church on Saturday, March 19, 2011 at 11:00 AM. The Rite of Committal will be in Quaker Cemetery. Father Francis Travis will officiate. The Rosary will be recited at 6:00 PM on Friday, March 18, 2011 at Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel, with visitation to follow until 7:30 PM.

Mr. Duncan died Sunday March 13, 2011, after a lengthy battle with cancer. He was born in Holly, Michigan, the son of the late John "Jack" and Carol Sipe Clarke. Mr. Clarke lived and worked in several states and overseas, eventually settling in Camden for the last ten years, making it his final home with Martha his wife of 24 years. Mr. Clarke’s intense appreciation of music, love of the outdoors and hiking was matched by his passion for computing science and systems research. He completed his undergraduate studies at Michigan State University his graduate work at Renssalear Polytechnic Institute, Troy, NY and his PHD at the University of Pennsylvania. He was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church.

Surviving are his wife, Martha Clarke; his two brothers, Roy Clarke and Daniel Clarke and his sister, Ann Courtney. His wife’s family also survives with brothers-in-law, Christopher Simoni and Mark Simoni and sisters-in-law, Kathleen Mack, Mary Simoni, Amy Simoni and Elizabeth Simoni. Mr. Clarke was deeply loved by his family and will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by family and friends alike.

The family suggests that memorials be made in Mr. Clarke’s memory to the charity of one’s choice.
