Camden Police Department (CPD) officers and other responders look over the remains of an accident Friday afternoon at the intersection of Boykin Road and U.S. 521 North.

The accident, which took place around 3:30 p.m., happened when a woman driving the silver Cadillac attempted to cross over U.S. 521 from Cool Springs Road onto Boykin Road. According to CPD Sgt. Tim LeGault, the woman misjudged how much clearance she had before being struck by the Ford pickup truck.

Luckily, the female driver -- charged with failing to yield the right of way -- apparently had few injuries and was taken to the hospital just to be checked out. LeGault said the man was airlifted to Richland County, treated and released.
