Battle of Camden BBQ Festival debuts May 19-20

The Camden Jaycees will be debuting the Battle of Camden BBQ Festival May 19-20 at Historic Camden. The event benefits the citizens of Kershaw County through its Annual Stocking Fund. 

This two-day event kicks off Friday night at 6 p.m. with all-you-can-eat chicken wings and live music by the Thomas Flyer Band. Saturday’s festivities begin at 10:30 a.m. with all-you-can-eat BBQ provided by 20 of South Carolina’s finest BBQ competitors and live music featuring Whiskey Tango Revue. Local first responders will be judging the chicken wing competition on Friday evening and the South Carolina Barbeque Association will be judging on Saturday. There will be cash prizes for first, second, and third places finishers. 

In addition to the wings and BBQ, the festival includes food trucks, local vendors, bounce castles, craft beer and raffles for prizes. A two-day adult festival pass is $15, single day adult tickets are $10, tickets for children age 6-16 are $5 and children 5 and under are free.

The Battle of Camden BBQ Festival is hosted by the Camden Jaycees with all proceeds going to its Annual Stocking Fund to benefit disadvantaged citizens during the Christmas Season.
