UWKC recognizes volunteers

The United Way of Kershaw County (UWKC) recently hosted a dinner to recognize the contributions of partner agency volunteers. 

Twelve partner agencies named their volunteers of the year and are as follows: Jan Massalon of the ALPHA Center, William Truesdale of the Camden-KC Rescue Squad, Teddy Elliott of Food for the Soul, Emily Skufca of Girl Scouts of SC-Mountains to Midlands, Larry Kincaid of Habitat for Humanity Kershaw County, Johnnie Shirley of Indian Waters Council, Boy Scouts of America, Joan Morris of the Kershaw County Board of Disabilities & Special Needs, Joe Covino  of the Kershaw County Council of Aging, LaShella Kirkland of Mental Health America of Kershaw County, Lillie Williams of Midlands Women’s Center, Pastor Walter Robinson, Bertha Thompson and the Union Baptist Church Young Ladies of America group of Sistercare and Anne-Marie Branham of The Family Resource Center. 

The Jake Watson award, which is the UWKC’s highest volunteer award, was awarded to Victor Jowers. The Anne Dallas Volunteer of the Year award was awarded to the late Teddy Elliot.

The UWKC also recognized former Jake Watson award recipients and various volunteers from different community organizations.
