Local airmen finish basic training

U.S. Air Force airmen Wallyce-Olivia Dowey, a 2014 Lugoff-Elgin High School graduate, and Paul M. Kleiber, a 2015 graduate of Camden Military Academy, graduated graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas.

Dowey and Kleiber completed intensive, eight-week programs that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills. Airmen who complete basic training also earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

Dowey is the daughter of Beverly J. Ray-Dowey and David J. Dowey Jr. and granddaughter of Barbara D. and Larry C. Ray, all of Lugoff. She is a 2014 graduate of Lugoff-Elgin High School.

Kleiber is the son of Jeffrey and Lisa Kleiber of Summerville.
