Camden assistant city manager, Caitlin Young accepts a bag of groceries from United Way of Kershaw County Board Chair Julie Trott at Camden City hall during a community shred day on June 20. The free event was hosted by the city of Camden.

The public was invited to bring canned goods and dry groceries to benefit the UWKC’s Mobile Food Pantry along with items that needed to be shredded. Along with food donations, some participants donated money towards food for the Mobile Nutrition Center. 1,787 pounds of food was donated. The UWKC Mobile Food Pantry stores and distributes fresh produce and other food to three locations throughout Kershaw County.
