The Iota Omega Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. recently welcomed 10 new members. The women celebrated this milestone with their friends and family at a luncheon at Bethelem Baptist Church Conference Center in Lugoff. The 10 were initiated into a distinguished group of thousands of college educated women of color whose mission is to continue its proclamation of sisterhood and service to mankind. Shown (from left) are Sheila Farrar, Jameela P. Grover, Janee Perry, Kiara Wilson, Ashley Engram, Angela Ford Nelson, Janece Simmons, Porscha Doyle, Larrye Boykin and Meaghan Norman

Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc., the nation’s first African American sorority, was established in 1908 on the campus of Howard University.
