Sign-up for 2017 conservation camp underway

The Kershaw County Soil and Water Conservation District will once again sponsor its annual conservation camp.

The camp will be held at Goodale State Park from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. the week of July 31 through Aug. 4. Space is limited, so sign up early. The camp will be five days of conservation fun, with a S.C. Dept. of Natural Resources fishing school, archery and wildlife exhibits with DNR instructors; bird, plant and wildlife identification; nature walks with regional naturalists; hands on conservation crafts with S.C. Conservation Teacher of the Year Lorrie Welch; and a field trip to Lynches River Environmental Discovery Center followed by a picnic and cool down fun in their park Splash Pad.

Children ages 8 to 12 are eligible to attend. The cost is $50 and includes crafts, lunch, refreshments, Lynches River Center and splash pad access.
