Colleges, universities honor county students

To be named to the Dean's List, a student achieved a grade-point average between 3.50 and 3.99 on a 4.0 scale.

From Elgin: Jennifer E. Horton, Grace Elizabeth Jordan, Margaret Mary Laporte, Hannah Mccall, Mallory Grace Mullen, Devin Thomas Reeder of Elgin, whose major is Architecture, Megan P. Vandiver.

From Lugoff: Timothy G. Branham, Lauren Alexandra Humphrey, Kathryn A. Lankford, Lindsey N. Marshall, Evelyn M. Watson.

To be named to the President's List, a student must achieve a 4.0 (all As) grade-point average.


Brandon Tyler Hill of Lugoff received an Associate in Business degree from Spartanburg Methodist College in Spartanburg. 


Virginia E. Ariail of Camden was named to the Rhodes College Honor Roll for the 2017 spring semester. To qualify for the honor roll, a student must be enrolled in at least 16 credit hours of academic work and must achieve a semester grade point average of 3.85 or better.


University of Alabama student Tucker Jerome Ervin of Elgin was named to the President's List for Spring 2017. A total of 11,101 students enrolled during the 2017 spring semester at the University of Alabama were named to the Dean's List with an academic record of 3.5 (or above) or the President's List with an academic record of 4.0 (all A's). The UA Dean's and President's lists recognize full-time undergraduate students. The lists do not apply to graduate students or undergraduate students who take less than a full course load.
