The Trident Club, the primary booster club for Lugoff-Elgin High School Athletics, is gearing up for the 2017-18 academic year at the school.

Founded in 2016, the organization’s primary goals are to raise funds needed for a successful athletic program and to promote team spirit at L-E High.

Here are some of the projects the Trident Club is currently sponsoring or, pursuing:

Senior ads for the football game program: The Trident Club is offering senior ads for the Demons’ 2017 football game program. Parents, family and friends can provide their senior off in style with anything from a baby picture to a message to a picture collage which will appear in the program to be sold at all L-E home football game.

In order to reserve a spot in the program, interested parties should create their own ad in a PDF format and email it to: christine.whisenhunt@kcsdschools.net before Sunday, July 23. Please put “Program” in the subject line.

The costs are, as follows:  Full page (8 ½ x 11) $100; Half-page (5 ½ x 8 ½) $75; Quarter-page (4 ½ x 5 ½) $50 and Business card (3 ½ x 2) $25

Checks should be made out to The Trident Club and students may pay L-E head football coach/athletic director Matt Campbell whose office is located inside the school’s Wellness Center.

Business ads for program deadline approaching: This is the final week for businesses to promote their company in the 2017 L-E football game program.

The cut off is Sunday, July 23.

Those persons/businesses who have signed up but have yet to send in their ad should email it to JeaneneLCampbell@aol.com

Businesses can still get a sign hung in the stadium if they miss the program deadline.

All-sport passes prices reduced: All-sport athletic passes and L-EHS student athletic badges will be sold at registration on Wednesday and Thursday, July 26 and 27.

Student badges are already made, with the students name and photo, and will be sold for $20. The badges for sophomores through seniors will include their photo while incoming freshmen badges will not have a photo included.

In order to offset the expenses for large families, the Trident Club has made the passes family friendly.

The prices are: $70 for a single pass; $125 for a family of two (a $15 savings!); $180 for a family of three (a $30 savings!) and $230 for a family of four (a $50 savings!)

These passes will provide bearers with free entry into all home regular season contests for every sport throughout the course of the 2016-17 seasons. The passes do not include admittance into state playoff games.

Trident Club championship banner drive: Coach Matt Campbell and The Trident Club plan to purchase new hard board banners to honor our L-E alumni and current student athletes and region and state championship-winning teams and give them the recognition they deserve. The club’s goal is to have these banners hung in the main gym before the start of the new school year.

To get the professionally made on hardboard PVC signs, they will run around $380 each. The price includes free future lettering to add new dates as championships are won.

In addition to receiving support from businesses and the community in general, the Trident Club has started a gofundme account for donors to help purchase the banners. The goal is to raise $3,000.

To donate to the banner drive, please log onto www.gofundme.com/trident-club-championship-banners.
