Registration is open for the Springdale 5k at Sunrise Walk and Run. The 5K walk and Run will be held on August 19 and will benefit the United Way of Kershaw County’s Mobile Nutrition Center’s “Race Against Hunger.”

The race will begin at 8 a.m. on a newly certified, “out and back course” which will start and finish at the Springdale Race Course in Camden.

A packet pick up party will be held on Friday, August 18 at the Mullikin Law Firm with food and drinks for all race participants.  Race day will feature a waffle bar with refreshments, complimentary pony rides and bounce house. This is a family oriented event encouraging a healthy lifestyle of walking or running.

Proceeds from the race will be utilized to assist the Mobile Nutrition Center’s purchase of fresh produce and meats to distribute at food pantry sites in the rural areas of Kershaw County.  The Mobile Nutrition Center’s truck will be available to accept food donations during the event.
