The Trident Club, the primary booster club for Lugoff-Elgin High School Athletics, is in the midst of a fundraising drive to recognize the school’s championship teams and student-athletes.

Founded in 2016, the organization’s primary goals are to raise funds needed for a successful athletic program and to promote team spirit at L-E High.

L-E head football coach and athletic director Matt Campbell and The Trident Club plan to purchase new hard board banners to honor L-E alumni, current student-athletes and region and state championship-winning teams and give them the recognition they deserve. The club’s goal is to have these banners hung in the main gym before the start of the new school year.

To get the professionally made on hardboard PVC signs, they will run around $380 each. The price includes free future lettering to add new dates as championships are won.

In addition to receiving support from businesses and the community in general, the Trident Club has started a gofundme account for donors to help purchase the banners. The goal is to raise $3,000.

The Camden High School Bulldog Club Membership Drive is in full swing for the 2016-17 school year.

Founded in 1952, the organization provides financial assistance to all athletic programs at the school through the membership drive and various fundraising activities.

The Camden Bulldog Club Board is composed of parent representatives for each sport and school representatives, CHS Athletic Director Brian Rimpf and CHS Principal Dan Matthews. Todd Warnock will serve as this year’s Bulldog Club President.

Each year, the Camden Bulldog Club is asked to fund equipment and improvement of facilities, pay tournament entry fees and provide meals for playoff teams. The club sponsors two “Meet the Bulldogs” programs to introduce players and coaches. The group encourages all Bulldog Club members to attend these programs. To encourage attendance at games, the club provides fall, winter and spring sports posters. The club hosts the annual Bulldog Athletic Banquet to recognize the hard work and accomplishments of CHS student-athletes and coaches. Fundraisers, in addition to thr annual membership drive, include the Miss Gold and Black pageant, the Bulldog Spirit Shoppe, and program sales at the Carolina Cup steeplechase.

Information brochures have been mailed to last year’s Bulldog Club members. Persons wishing to become a member of the organization should call Camden High at 425-8937 to have a brochure mailed to them or to receive more information.
