Lady Knights divide matches with Lancaster, Indian Land

North Central opened its 2017 volleyball season by splitting a pair of non-conference pairings in a tri-match played at Lancaster High School on Tuesday.

The Lady Knights defeated their 4A hostesses in two sets, 25-15 and 25-12, before falling to AAA Indian Land, 25-17 and 25-18.

Alayna Johnson led Andy Johnson’s squad along the net with nine kills. She also had seven digs and an assist. Madison Dixon and McKenna Arrants had eight kills each with Dixon adding 13 digs and two aces while Arrants had four digs and an ace.

Aaliyah White had a Lady Knight-best 27 assists with seven digs and two aces. Peyton Holley lent 18 digs along with four kills and three aces while Tierra Preston had 14 digs and a pair of kills. Rhi Hendrix came up with a pair of kills.

NC traveled to meet rival Andrew Jackson in Thursday’s Region 4-AA opener and will stay on the road to take on Robert E. Lee Academy on Tuesday in a 6 p.m. start in Bishopville.
