Funeral service for Arthur Mitchell Catoe, Sr., 76, was held on Wednesday at Antioch Baptist Church with burial in Marshall United Methodist Church Cemetery. The Rev. Danny Hedgepath and the Rev. Jerry Gardner officiated. The family received friends Tuesday at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff.  Memorials may be made to Antioch Baptist Church.

Mr. Catoe, husband of the late Vindetta Baker Catoe, passed away at home surrounded by his family on Sunday, September 3, 2017.  Born in Kershaw County, he was the son of the late Sidney S. Catoe and Rena Mae Dillon Catoe.  He was a member of Antioch Baptist Church.  He enjoyed fishing and working on old cars and tractors.

Surviving are his sons, James Catoe (Brenda) and Arthur Mitchell Catoe Jr. (Shirley); daughter, Barbara Holden; 10 grandchildren;  11great-grandchildren; brothers, Sidney Catoe, Pete Catoe and Wayne Catoe; and sister, Linda Kronman.  He was predeceased by a grandson, J.R. Catoe; brother, Shine Catoe; and sisters, Lucille Moore, Isabel Bowers, Bobbie Jean Catoe, Lois Evan Roberts, Frances Rogers and Ruby Jackson.
