Due to the impending threat from Hurricane Irma, today’s edition of The Chronicle-Independent went to press on Friday afternoon for the safety of the workers who print the newspaper in Charleston in the event that the city could be evacuated before the storm is projected to hit the Lowcountry.

Given the early deadline, the stories from Kershaw County’s four scheduled Friday night high school football games were unable to be included in today’s edition of the paper. Those game stories will be included in Friday’s edition of the C-I, along with previews of Friday’s games involving Lugoff-Elgin, North Central and Camden Military Academy.

Camden High is scheduled to return to action on Thursday night in a 7:30 p.m. game against West Florence at Florence Memorial Stadium.
