Patrick Davis. Alfred Mae Drakeford. Dr. Paul Joseph Sr. Dr. Janet Marshall. Thomas “Daddy Mac” McLester Sr. Austin Sheheen. These will be the people inducted during the second annual Camden High School (CHS) Hall of Fame event set for Oct. 12 at 833 South Broad Street. McLester, who passed away in 2012, will be inducted posthumously.

“Our school improvement council created this program in 2016 to acknowledge the rich history and outstanding accomplishments of alumni and staff of Camden or Jackson high schools,” CHS School Librarian Laura Horton said in a press release. “This program also recognizes individuals who are not alumni or staff, but have made tremendous contributions to Camden High School.”

The event is open to the public and for family and friends of the honorees. Tickets, which include a catered reception, may be purchased for $30 per person at CHS.

Davis, Drakeford, Joseph, Marshall, McLester and Sheheen will join the inaugural 2016 inductees, William “Billy” Ammons, Mary Ann Blaskowitz, John Coke Goodwin, Dimetry “Vonnie” Holliday, Robert J. “Bob” Sheheen, Ralph Warren and (posthumously) S.C. Gov. John C. and First Lady Lois Rhame West. Last year’s event also took place at 833 South Broad Street on May 12, 2016.
