Lady Demons cruise past HHS

Starting off their second go-through in Region 6-4A just as they did the first, the Lugoff-Elgin volleyball team cruised past visiting Hartsville Tuesday night in a three-set sweep inside the Demons Den.

Katie Ham’s squad improved to 5-0 in conference play and won their seventh straight non-tournament match with a 25-10, 25-18, 25-13 victory over the Lady Red Foxes.

Junior setter/hitter Sarah Turner had match bests with six aces and 15 assists for the winners who received four kills from senior hitter Summer Rasberry.

Senior hitter Madi Campbell led a strong net attack with 11 kills while sophomore Katie Napper sent down five kills. Junior setter/hitter Emily Nettles had seven assists and a kill while senior Libero Natalie Taylor contributed eight digs, two assists and an ace toward the win.
