Darlington provided little resistance as Lugoff-Elgin ran the table in winning the Region 6-4A volleyball crown with a three-set road sweep last Thursday.

The Lady Demons will host Dreher, the fourth-place finisher from Region 5, in Thursday’s first round of the 4A Lower State tournament. The match is set for a 6 p.m. start inside the Demons Den.

The Lady Demons capped an 8-0 conference campaign and extended their regular season match win streak to 11 in taking down the Lady Falcons, 25-7, 25-14 and 25-2.

One of the highlights of the match was L-E senior P.A. Wells opening the third set by serving up 22 straight winning points. She finished the evening with seven service aces.

Junior setter/hitter Sarah Turner helped lead Katie Ham’s charges with 30 assists while adding four kills and an ace. Freshman hitter Kennedy Robinson led the way at the net with 10 kills while adding one of L-E’s 11 aces on the evening. Junior hitter Sydney Ochoa was next with six kills while senior hitter Madi Campbell and junior hitter Bella Armstrong had five and four kills, respectively.
