We would like to offer a tip of the hat and a hearty congratulations to the honorees for this year’s Camden High School Hall of Fame.

The CHS Hall of Fame was established by the School Improvement Council of Camden High School to honor alumni whose accomplishments, deeds and character exemplify outstanding achievement  in their life’s work and/or service to their community. This award may also honor individuals who did not graduate from CHS but who have significantly and consistently contributed to the school’s work and mission.

The honorees, Patrick Davis, Alfred Mae Drakeford, Dr. Paul T. Joseph Sr., Dr. Janet Marshall, Thomas E. “Daddy Mac” McLester and Austin M. Sheheen Jr., are a diverse group -- in ages, backgrounds, career choices and contributions -- but they would all readily agree they have far more in common than not.

A couple of those common threads include a love of this community and a heartfelt willingness to go the extra mile to give back.

No doubt, they are people to  whose example we can all aspire and emulate and we as a community are fortunate to count them as friends and neighbors.

Well done, congratulations and thanks again!
