Savion Watson threw for 319 yards and four touchdowns in leading Chesterfield to a 40-14 win over north Central on Friday night in Boonetown.

The loss dropped Tryonne Drakeford’s squad to 2-7 on the season and 0-5 in Region 4-AA play. The setback also squashed any hopes which the Knights had of making the AA state playoffs.

The visiting Rams improved to 7-2 and 3-2 in 4-AA action.

North Central received a touchdown run from sophomore tailback MarRique Simon for one of its scores while senior quarterback Bubba Williamson found junior Jamel Jones coming out of the backfield for the hosts’ second touchdown.

Williamson finished the night with more than 200 passing yards for NC which closes its regular season when Central comes to Boonetown on Friday night.

Watson, a senior, upped his touchdown passing total to 33 on the season in the win. He found Ricky Lockhart with seven passes for 160 including one for a 51-yard touchdown. James McBride led the guests with 160 yards on the ground from 30 carries as the Rams piled up 531 yards in offense.
