Dr. Tony M. Bolen, shown here aboard his trusty tractor, has joined the Mill Village Veterinarian practice.

Dr. Tony M. Bolen joined the Mill Village Veterinary hospital as an associate veterinarian Nov. 1.

Bolen was raised on his family’s dairy farm in Tama, Iowa. He completed his Bachelors of Animal Science degree from Iowa State in 2007 followed by his doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in 2011. He has six years of practice experience. After graduating, he obtained employment at Southwest Veterinary Services LLC, a mixed animal clinic, in southwest Wisconsin. After one and a half years, Bolen was invited to partner. He became one of four owners of a large, four-clinic location, 10-doctor practice.

“I feel privileged that he accepted this position and I feel confident that he will be invaluable to our team,” Dr. Ham Tetteron said. “He understands the special bond you share with your pet and shares our dedication to providing you and your pet with the longest, healthiest relationship possible.”

Bolen has been married for four years. His wife, Darah, was his high school classmate and best friend growing up. She is a stenographer and works as an independent contractor for a firm based out of Charleston. They have two four-legged loved ones: Dallas, a Blue Tick Coonhound/German Shorthair Mix and Marley, a Boxer. They are expecting a baby in May 2018 to make their home complete.

Bolen loves the outdoors, boating, and spending time with the family and friends. He also has a deep passion for the sport of wresting. While in high school he was a four-time starter, three-time Iowa State Qualifier, Iowa State Place winner and team captain with more than 125 wins. He has been invited to be the new assistant wrestling coach for Camden High School.
