Camden High School’s (CHS) Class of 1967 celebrated its 50th reunion last month during Homecoming Week. As part of reunion activities, class members gave monetary donations for an appreciation gift to Camden High. The fund raising goal was to pay the $1,100 cost for a specially made metal seating bench for the front entrance of Camden High. On behalf of the Class of 1967, members of the Reunion Planning Committee recently presented CHS Principal Dan Matthews a check to Camden High for $1,539.57. Funds beyond the cost of the bench will be given to the CHS Media Center in honor of media specialist Laura Horton in appreciation for her assistance to the class during reunion planning and for her many contributions to CHS. Reunion Planning Committee members helping to present the check to Matthews (far left) are (left to right) Steve Bowers, Jackie Huggins, Patty Sprinkle, Mary Ann Blaskowitz, Jane Unsworth, Barbara Willens, Cheryl Brannon, Darlene Love, Mike Eddings, and Gay Lilly. Planning committee members not pictured included Mary Lee Brazell, John Burns, Gail Clements, and Kathryn Lovatt.
