Thankful for you

Thanksgiving is a time to rejoice and a moment you showcase everything you are thankful for. Usually, I would talk about my high school career at North Central High, but I want this to be a little different. You all probably say thank you every day, or at least you should, but on Thanksgiving you need to really think about what you have and who you have to be thankful for. You should be grateful for the people who encourage you, lead and direct you on the right path, and for the ones who have your back no matter what happens. You aren’t guaranteed to have the same people or material things tomorrow as you have today. Make sure the people you love know you love them. Don’t just tell them; show them your love. I’d like to share a couple of people I am thankful for.

To my mom, Anissa Reynolds. You are the skip to my step, twinkle to my star, sun to my shine, sweet to my tea, and the key to my heart. You treat me like a friend, but teach me like a mother. Our hearts are forever bonded and not a single thing will ever break that bond.

I would like to also thank my dad, Scottie Reynolds. We fight a lot, that’s no secret, but it is also no secret that our love is a connection no one can break. Thank you for teaching me how to not be afraid in a tough situation, to grow a garden, and how to be a young, respectful lady.

Last, but surely not least, I would like to thank my brother. You have taught me to spread the word of God everywhere I go. For many years, we fought like we were professional boxers, but that all changed when I realized how much you mean to me when you went off to college. You have made life so much easier in these past years and have helped me strive to be my absolute best. Justin, I want you to know you mean the world to me. I probably don’t tell you as much as I should, but I love you so much.

To all of you reading this, just remember to give thanks for all the opportunities and people in your life this Thanksgiving. Remember not to only tell them how much you care, but show them as well.
