Roberson FT lifts Demons past RB

Kevon Roberson broke a 56-56 tie with a free throw with 2.2 seconds left in the game to give the Lugoff-Elgin basketball team a season-opening 57-56 win over visiting River Bluff on Tuesday night inside the Demons Den.

Roberson, a senior guard, led the Demons with 20 points while senior forward Bradwin Salmond was next with 16 points for Garrett Knight’s squad. Senior guards Elisha Manigo and  

Ronil Patel were next with seven and five points, respectively.

In the girls’ game, the Lady Demons fell short in a 41-38 loss to River Bluff.

Sophomore guard Jazmin Foster led Von Duncan’s charges with 13 points while classmate Brooke Grant added nine points. Senior forward Caitlyn Simon was next with eight points.
