Looking ahead

It’s been an interesting year.

A number of goals have been or about to be reached, most notably the building of the new Central Carolina Technical College Campus.  We are especially pleased to see that project come in on time, under budget and ready for service. It will no doubt go a long way in helping provide a brighter future for our children and ultimately for the county.

We are also pleased to see Laurey Carpenter and the PLAY Foundation board moving forward with the application to have Kershaw County named an All American City. This is an important and worthwhile endeavor and if all goes well, Kershaw County will join an elite group of towns, cities, and counties across the country. We certainly wish them well and will do what we can to support their efforts.

As to the coming year, we believe a number of good seeds have been planted and will ultimately yield a long running and bountiful harvest for our community. But it will take work, commitment and support.

Let us be proud of what we have achieved, thankful for our blessings and diligent and vigilant in our next steps.

We cannot waver now.
