First Palmetto Bank again partnered with Food for the Soul for its annual Christmas charity drive to help the less fortunate in Kershaw County.  Nearly 1,200 items totaling 8,000 pounds were donated by bank employees, who competed against each other in evenly-divided teams to raise donations.  The list of donated items expanded this year to include detergents, paper towels, plates and other items in addition to non-perishable foods and other dry goods.

“Partnering with Food for the Soul has been a wonderful experience for all team members at First Palmetto.  Employees were generous with their time and resources again this year, and it is rewarding to know that the staff can compete against each toward a common cause knowing the true winner is the community,” First Palmetto President Samuel R. Small Jr. said.

All donations will go to Food for the Soul, which has provided more than 65,000 meals and shelter for 1,600 people since it began serving the community in 2010. First Palmetto Bank has been headquartered in Camden since 1904 and serves Kershaw County, the Midlands, Lowcountry, and Grand Strand through its 22 branch locations.
