We would like to take a moment to express our deepest gratitude and heartfelt congratulations to Ginger Catoe, who has been named early learning and literacy director for the S.C. Department of Education.

Catoe’s career as a teacher and principal in the Kershaw County School District has positively touched the lives of so many of our children. Indeed, as principal of Doby’s Elementary School, she has accomplished a great deal; under her leadership, DMES was named a Palmetto Finest School, National School of Character, S.C. Exemplary Writing School and a Blue Ribbon Lighthouse School.

While the Kershaw County School District -- and our community -- will have to say farewell to an outstanding educator, Catoe will now have a tremendous opportunity to help our children as well as children across our state.

So, again, congratulations and thank you, Ginger Catoe. We know you will do an outstanding job in your new role.
