Kershaw County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO) deputies responded to an armed robbery Sunday morning at the Dollar General in Lugoff, 1686 U.S. 1 South.

In an email Tuesday afternoon, KCSO Inv. Michael Davidson said the suspect is described as a black male, approximately 6 feet 2 inches to 6 feet 3 inches tall.

“(He) came into the Dollar General at approximately 8:33 a.m., just as the store was opening,” Davidson said. “The suspect backed his vehicle into a parking spot in front of the store and entered.”

Davidson said the man brandished a silver handgun to the store clerk and demanded cash. Once the clerk did so, the suspect told the clerk to move to the back of the store.

“The suspect followed the clerk to the back of the store and waited until she was in the back room. He then exited the store,” Davidson said, adding that the vehicle the suspect left in is a silver or gray, 2012 or 2013 Nissan Altima.

Anyone who can help identify the suspect is asked to contact the KCSO at (803) 425-1512.
