The Camden Police Department is seeking a suspect believed to be involved in two robberies that took place Wednesday evening.

According to CPD incident reports, at about 9 p.m Wednesday, a suspect entered the Circle K store at Mill and DeKalb streets in Camden, approached the clerk and demanded the money in the register, saying he had a friend waiting in his car outside who was armed with firearms and who would come in if the clerk did not do as the suspect said.

According to the reports, the clerk refused and he left the store. While CPD officers and investigators were responding to that incident, a call came in at about 9:25 p.m. that a similar incident had just occurred at the Circle K store in Dusty Bend. According to the report, a similarly described suspect, believed to be the same individual, entered that store, told the clerk there he had a friend outside armed with guns and to give him the money in the register. In this incident, the clerk did comply.

The suspect himself did not present any weapons during these incidents, according to the reports.

The suspect is described as a white male of medium build, around 5 feet 9 inches tall, between 30-40 years old with slicked back dark hair. The suspect was described as wearing red shorts, sunglasses, and a tan jacket during both incidents.

In both incidents, the suspect fled the scene in a white, (possibly two-tone white over silver) SUV, possibly a 4-door Infinity.

Anyone with any information should contact Detective Dallas Rabon at the Camden Police Department at (803) 425-6025 or email drabon@camdensc.org.
