ATLAS ROAD CREW will bring their Southern-tinged rock to the College Park stage at the Carolina Cup races on Saturday, March 31.

After several months of hinting, it is now official. For the first time in nearly two decades, live rock music will return to College Park for the 84th running of the Carolina Cup at the Springdale Race Course in Camden on Saturday, March 31.

Thanks to a collaboration with the Music Farm of Columbia and the Carolina Cup Racing Association, Columbia-based rockers, The Atlas Road Crew along with 76 and Sunny will take the College Park stage. In order to keep the party going, DJ ßois Θbscur will also be part of the entertainment package which was announced last Wednesday at the race course.

While nothing has been firmed as to the order of appearance on race day, the preliminary plan will have DJ ßois Θbscur taking the College Park --- which will open at 8 a.m. --- stage at 9 a.m. and will continue with his set until 11 a.m. when Atlas Road Crew will take the stage for a 90-minute-plus set. 76 and Sunny will perform in-between the afternoon’s six races and will not play when the horses are on the race course.

In addition, throughout the morning and early afternoon hours, College Park will be home to the inaugural Knockerball Steeplechase. Heats will be run and will be open to those purchasing tents in the area on the back side of the race course with the winners from each heat competing in the final race for a specially designed trophy.

Spaces are still available throughout College Park with rows A-C being sold for $800, which includes a 20 x 20-foot tent and parking for two vehicles. Parking on rows D-E is $100 and includes one parking space

Here is a brief rundown on the list of performers inside College Park on race day:

Atlas Road Crew: Formed in 2011 in Columbia, the five-member band features Taylor Nicholson on lead vocals and guitar with a sound which has been described as rock ‘n roll with a southern flavor.

ARC has built a loyal following in South Carolina and continues to build on their fame as they perform before packed crowds at venues along the east coast. In 2016, the band traveled to Europe for a six-week tour.

In 2015, ARC came out its most recent CD, Halfway to Hopkins, produced by Grammy Award winning producer Rick Beato. Reviews from the CD, along with their dynamic live shows made the group a “must see” act throughout the southeast.

76 and Sunny: The Columbia-based four-man band recently returned from having played a New Year’s Eve gig at the Tin Roof in Baltimore.

Known throughout the Midlands for their high-energy performances which feature a rotation of cover tunes and originals, 76 and Sunny is a three-time nominee as the Best Band in Columbia as judged by editors and readers of the Free Times. They started gaining steam thanks to their popularity with USC students in the summer of 2013 and have not slowed down since and have played at the St. Pat’s Day celebration in Five Points in each of the last three years.

DJ ßois Θbscur: One of most in-demand DJs in Columbia, DJ ßois Θbscur will rev the crowd with high-energy and blends late 90’s and early 2000’s hip-hop/R&B with new club ready beats, as well as new electronic club music. He has opened for the likes of Skillex in his career and is known for keeping his sets alive by his quick mixing in and out of tracks.
