The West Wateree-Lugoff Rotary Club’s fifth annual Wild Game Dinner and Silent Auction is scheduled for Saturday, March 24, at the Camden City Arena with proceeds going to the West Wateree Rotary Scholarship Fund to benefit Lugoff-Elgin High School seniors.

This year’s event will feature an expanded menu of wild game delicacies prepared by award-winning chef Don Johnson of Wetumpka, Ala., whose cooking team has won top placement in various wild game dinner cook-offs throughout the southeast. The menu will feature venison, quail and wild pork entrees.

Since 1990, the West Wateree Rotary Club has been committed to providing scholarships to Lugoff-Elgin High School seniors. Last year’s dinner was so successful, the club will award $14,000 in scholarships to Lugoff-Elgin High School seniors this spring.

Through the Wild Game Dinner and other efforts, members have provided more than $89,000 in educational support for more than 115 students since the scholarships began.

Sponsorships for this year’s dinner are still available. Various levels are offered and they include multiple admissions to the dinner. Anyone interested in helping support the dinner should contact Wild Game Dinner coordinator Dr. Brian Spilker at for more information.
