Clint Doran has announced his intention to run for S.C. House District 52.

Doran, an Independent candidate who lives in Lugoff, will face off against Republican candidate Penry Gustafson and and incumbent Rep. Laurie Funderburk.

“After having lived in South Carolina for 20 plus years and having been working with legislation for the past two years, I have decided to run for State House Representative for District 52, Kershaw County,” Doran said.  “I have gotten to know many great people here and have gone through the same struggles as many of this county’s residents.”

Doran said he believes it is “time to start putting common sense back into the laws and helping the many people of this county and state.”

Doran pledges to maintain close contact with the residents of the district and work to meet their needs.

“I have always maintained a 100 percent open door policy at every job I have ever had and will continue this policy for the residents of Kershaw County,” he said. “I was raised in a global enviroment, but taught to keep a small town point of view. I am running as an independent candidate for this position and feel this will allow me to aid the people of District 52 better.”
