City council to meet tonight

Camden City Council will meet at 6 p.m. today; there will be no afternoon work session.

On tonight’s agenda, council will:

• recognize Camden Police Department Sgt. Tim LeGault as the VFW Officer of the Year and the Camden Fire Department’s Roger Roscoe as the VFW Firefighter of the Year;

• hold a public hearing to receive public comments concerning a Recreational Trails Program grant application to resurface the trail at Scott Park;

• consider first reading of an ordinance amending certain sections of the city’s land development regulations pertaining to requirements for plats and mailboxes;

• consider first reading of an ordinance assigning a final classification of commercial mixed use to the recently annexed property at 559 Sumter Hwy. next to I-20 Exit 98;

• consider a resolution authorizing the consumption of beer and wine during the S.C. Water Association Banquet;
• consider a resolution authorizing the consumption of beer and wine during Finally Friday events; and

• consider appointing Mike Eddings to the Camden Parks and Trees Commission for a term to expire on May 31, 2020.

Tonight’s meeting will take place on the second floor of Camden City Hall, 1000 Lyttleton St., and is open to the public.
