Matia Goodwin is 2018 KCSD Principal of the Year

Jackson School Principal Matia Goodwin was named Kershaw County School District (KCSD) 2018 Principal of the Year today. Goodwin was selected after a vote of school and district administrators and has served as Jackson’s principal for seven years.

With 19 years in education, Goodwin also has served as an assistant principal and curriculum coach as well as taught 3rd through 7th grades and gifted and talented education. Under her leadership, Jackson has implemented the Leader in Me program and earned a Leader in Me Lighthouse Award.

Goodwin will be formally recognized April 19 at the school district’s Teacher of the Year Gala.
