The National Society Daughters of the American Colonists’ goals are to be patriotic, historical and educational in honoring our heritage.

The South Carolina State Society established a Nursing Scholarship Fund in the early 1980s, during the administration of Mrs. Eva Reinhard, State Regent, to help ease the financial burden incurred by nursing students. She recognized the potential for a nursing shortage.

Each year, the State Society gives two scholarships of $400 to deserving nursing students attending schools within the state.
This year’s recipient is the Applied Technology Education Campus’ Practical Nursing Phase II student Andrea Clyburn. She has excelled in the classroom and the clinical areas.
