Mid-Carolina Credit Union holds 57th annual meeting

Mid Carolina Credit Union, serving more than 14,000 members in Kershaw and Richland Counties, reently held it’s 57th Annual Meetingt at Lugoff-Elgin High School.

During the meeting, the member/owners elected three members to serve on the Board of Directors and one member to the Supervisory Committee. The Credit Union membership also received reports highlighting the Credit Union’s strong financial position, the projects and plans for 2018 and the six scholarship recipients.

Board Chairman Greg Nettles reported the construction of the new building on U.S. 1 in Lugoff will begin soon with a projected completion in 2019.

Elected to the Board of Directors were Gene Hornsby, Greg Nettles and Larry Strickland. Elected to the audit committee was Cecil Truesdale. Credit Union CEO Scott Conley reported, over the last decade the credit union has provided more than $20,000 in scholarships to graduating seniors who are credit union members.

Receiving scholarships in 2018 were Emily Calcutt, Jordan Haynes, Zachary Koeppen, Jonathan Richardson Jr., Devin Martin, Kendall Harp.

The meeting closed with prize drawings held that included cash and flat panel smart TV’s.

Immediately after the annual membership meeting, the board of directors elected the 2018 Executive Committee. The Executive Committee for 2018 will be Greg Nettles, Chairman; Chip Galloway, Vice Chairman; Larry Strickland, Treasurer; JoAnn Hanks, Secretary.
