The North Central girls’ soccer team defeated host Lewisville in a penalty kick shootout, 3-0, after the game ended in a 1-1 tie.

The victory was the first of the season for the Lady Knights.

Freshman Lanie Hackworth scored the first Lady Knight goal off an assist from classmate Sara Bowers.  NC senior goalkeeper Roana Davis allowed just one goal which help carry NC into overtime.

NC head coach Jeremey King inserted senior Olivia Walsh in goal for the penalty kick shootout and she came up with two match-saving saving.

Sophomore Emilee Worley, junior Tristan Bodiford and senior Daisy Noyola scored NC’s three penalty kick goals with Walsh shutting down the Lady Lions.

“The rest of the team played their hearts out to drive us to the win,” King said after the match.
