I am excited that The Wall That Heals is coming to Camden. I visited this exhibit in Feb. 2017 in Ft. Worth, Texas. I never thought it would be located here. It is difficult to imagine how this massive replica can be moved across the nation, to be set up in a different location each week. I have learned that the replica that will be in Camden is 50 percent larger than the one I saw in Texas.

It was a solemn experience walking along looking at all those names. There are almost as many people listed on The Wall as the entire population of Kershaw County. That is quite a sobering thought. As one would expect, visitors were very quiet, thoughtful and reverent. Some pointed to names, some were moved to tears, some left notes or photographs. Everyone seemd somehow touched or affected by having visited there.

I think it is great that people in this community and throughout South Carolina will have an opportunity tfor this unique experience. Camden is the only place in South Carolina this exhibit will visit. I am anxious to see this larger model of The Wall. I encourage my fellow citizens to make every effort to experience this exhibit.
