Be a light in someone's life

You and I both have the ability to be the happiness in someone’s life. We have lips that can turn into a smile and a voice that can become a compliment. We have a soul that can burn like a candle when everyone around us feels like they are in the dark. As Matthew 5:14-16 says, “14 You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead, they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” So let’s learn to light a candle in the darkest moments.

In a world where we choose to ignore the news because it is nothing but evil we have to be the light that stands out. If it only takes the sun’s light to reach earth in 8 minutes and 20 seconds then imagine how fast our light can reach someone if we are already here. We have to build people up. Put their insecurities away. Remind them they are loved and worthy. This world is often too dim, but if it can go dim then it can go bright.

Today will never come again. Let’s be a blessing, friend, and a protector. We should be the person that we wish we had when we were younger. This world depends on how we raise, treat, and respect our younger peers. We should teach them how to love, respect, act, conquer, and live their life to the fullest all at the same time.
