Two nights after having opened the AAA Upper State tournament with a 4-2 win over Berea, the Camden girls’ soccer team was upended by Woodruff, 4-1, on Wednesday in a match knotted at 1-1 at halftime.

Two nights earlier, Chloe Grein scored three goals as the Lady Bulldogs rebounded from a 1-0 halftime deficit to defeat visiting Berea, 4-2, in Monday’s first round of the AAA Upper State tournament.

After Venus Sumpter scored Camden’s first goal, her 25th of the season, Grein scored a natural hat trick in finding the back of the Berea nets three times in the closing 40 minutes of play for Aaron Mayes and company.
