County Council meets tonight

Kershaw County Council will consider  resolutions approving the assignment and transfer of a fee in lieu of taxes agreement to Haier U.S. Appliance Solutions during its meeting tonight at the County Government Center. The resolutions come before council as a matter of course; council had approved a Fee In Lieu of Taxes Agreement in 2000 for then Haier America Holding Corp., which became Haier U.S. Solutions Inc. in 2015.

Council will also consider a resolution approving an equipment lease purchase financed by First Citizens Bank and Trust in the amount of $266,692, as well as a resolution approving an agreement as to road and parking infrastructure at Central Carolina Technical College.

Council will also discuss an agreement between the county and Central Carolina as to use and maintenance of Central Carolina Technical College facilities.

Council will also discuss the terms of service for members of the Clean Community Commission.

Council will also hear public presentations from Kershaw County School District Superintendent Dr. Frank Morgan regarding the district reading program and the state of the district.

Kershaw County Council meets at 5:30 p.m. today in the County Government Center, 515 Walnut Street, Camden. Meetings are open to the public.
