KCGC meeting on tap for Thursday

TOM MENDOZA ... USC volleyball coach

The Kershaw County Gamecock Club (KCGC) will host its annual “It’s Great to be a Gamecock” meeting at the Old South & Catery (509 Dicey Creek Rd. in Camden) on Thursday, May 17th at 6:30 p.m.  

The featured guest speaker will be University of South Carolina offensive line coach Eric Wolford. Also speaking as part of the evening’s program will be Jay Brown, former USC baseball pitcher and team captain of the Gamecocks’ 2010 National Championship team. Brown will share his thoughts and insight on the state of Carolina baseball.  

Kershaw County is the host club for the Gamecock volleyball team and Tom Mendoza, who will take over the reins to the program in 2018, will also be on hand to discuss his plans for the team. In addition, Mendoza will be accorded a special presentation from the KCGC.

KCGC officials invite all USC fans to attend the annual event which is open to all Gamecock fans and not only to club members.

The doors to the Old South & Catery will open at 6 p.m. on Thursday, with food being served at 6:30 p.m. There will be drawings for raffle prizes during the course of the evening.

 Tickets are now on sale and are $15 each in advance (prior to May 16) or $20 at the door. Children tickets, for ages 10 through 15, will be available at the door for $10 with children age 10 and under being admitted free of charge.
