CAMDEN WILL GIVE BULLDOG fans a sneak peek into the 2018 fall season during Friday’s annual Gold and Black game which concludes the program’s spring practice session.

Camden High will conclude its spring practice slate with its annual Gold and Black came to be contested on Friday, May 18.

The game, which highlights a jam-packed evening, will be played at the Bulldog Sports Complex, located off Ehrenclou Drive due to the ongoing renovations at Zemp Stadium.

In addition to the varsity football spring game, there will be an alumni flag football contest --- to benefit the Sterling Felder Foundation --- and the girls’ powder puff football game between members of the CHS senior class taking on their junior class counterparts.

The evening kicks off with the varsity team warm-ups at 6:30 p.m. followed by the alumni flag football game at 7 p.m. The Gold and Black game will start at 7:30 p.m. followed by the playing of the powder puff game at 8:30 p.m.

There is no admission charge for the evening’s events but fans in attendance may make a donation toward the Sterling Felder Foundation, which is a nonprofit organization established by his mother, Mary R. Adamson, in memory of her son, Sterling Felder. The Friday after his last game of his Camden High football career in 2015, Felder was involved in a tragic car accident which led to his death 10 days later.

Proceeds raised from Friday’s spring game will go toward helping youth sports throughout Kershaw County. Contributions are being accepted at SAFE Federal Credit Union and at sterlingfelderfoundation.com.
