We would like to offer our congratulations -- and a hearty welcome to the neighborhood -- to Dr. William “Shane” Robbins, who has been named as the next superintendent for the Kershaw County School District.

Dr. Robbins replaces Dr. Frank Morgan, who is retiring at the end of June.

Dr. Robbins comes to Kershaw County with an impressive resume. Currently the superintendent of the Mt. Vernon Consolidated School District in Fontville, Ind., he also spent several years as the superintendent of the Northwestern Consolidated School District and Monroe Central School Corporation, both of which are also in Indiana. He began his career in the classroom as a science and health teacher, moving into assistant prinicpal and prinicipal roles prior to becoming a superintendent. He has earned a number of accolades for his accomplishments as a superintendent, including being named the 2017 Indiana Association of Public School Superintendents District VI Superintendent of the Year.

Dr. Robbins will have some big shoes to fill here, but we trust he will be able to do so admirably.

Again, congratulations, and welcome!
