Ad hoc recommendations, millage request before KCC

Kershaw County Council will hear recommendations from the ad hoc committee as well as consider a millage increase request from the Kershaw County School District during tonight’s meeting.

KCC vice chair Sammy Tucker Jr. and Kershaw County School Board Trustee Todd McDonald will present council findings and recommendations from a recent study done by the ad hoc committee regarding School Resource Officer/school security issue. Council will also consider a formal request for millage increase by the Kershaw County School District.

Council will also hear a presentation regarding Accommodations Tax recommendations as well as consider first reading of an ordinance, in title only, for the county’s fiscal year 2018 budget. Council will also consider first reading of an ordinance to execute an agreement between Kershaw County and Central Carolina Technical College (CCTC) for use and maintenance of the CCTC facilities at the new campus.

Council hear a presentation regarding Mental Health Month.

Council will also consider a proposal to reschedule the June 12 council meeting.

Kershaw County Council meets at 5:30 p.m. in the County Government Center, 515 Walnut Street, Camden. Meetings are open to the public.
