A single-car accident killed a Fayetteville, N.C., man Saturday night.

According to an email from Kershaw County Coroner David West, Lateef Halim Mack, 39, died after the car he was driving hit a tree and ended up in a ditch. West said 911 dispatchers received the call around 11:14 p.m. Saturday.

“Kershaw County Fire Service and EMS arriving on the scene found a single auto with one deceased in the car on the driver’s side,” West said in the email.

According to West, although Mack was from North Carolina, he had family in Kershaw County.

West said Mack was pronounced dead at the scene.
