Camden City Council will meet today at 6 p.m.; there will be no afternoon work session.

There are only three pieces of business on the evening’s agenda:

• Second and final reading of an ordinance annexing approximately 35 acres of property at 430 Black River Road with an interim zoning classification of R6. A prospective buyer of the property is seeking to create a new residential subdivision on the property.

• An annual resolution to provide a hazard-free work environment for city employees, the public, and private and public property.

• Consideration of a Leader’s Legacy bench to honor former clerk of council Betty Horton Slade.

Tonight’s meeting will be held on the second floor of Camden City Hall, 1000 Lyttleton St., and is open to the public.
